Abstracts and papers are invited on the following themes:
1. HOUSING POLICIES AND SUSTAINABLE URBANISATION
National and municipal housing policies, with special attention to social
housing and poverty alleviation. Sustainability and environmental issues
in urban housing development. Issues related to globalization, such as transnational
migration and its urban and housing consequences.
2. URBAN GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governance issues affecting housing provision, including decentralisation,
community empowerment and self help.
3. INFORMAL SETTLEMENTS AND CITY-WIDE REGULARISATION PROGRAMMES
Slum upgrading, property rights, regularisation policies, land and security
of tenure; urban conflict; disaster mitigation.
4. HOUSING FINANCE
Access to housing finance by low-income groups, microfinance, innovations
in national and municipal housing finance.
